Joy’s Week

Joy is such a sweet big sister.  She was swinging and wanted her sister to share the experience with her.  Such sweet expressions.

Joy’s Dance Class. This was her last class – and the first one we were able to see.  It was so cute.  The teachers are excellent – truly wonderful.  I was so impressed!  Joy, though, was so delighted that I was there, she just wouldn’t stay with her class!  She wanted to be with me.

Due to a technical glitch, I present two weeks of Joy’s life:

She loves Christmas!                             She has a great imagination – that block is a harmonica!

Our family went to the Nativity Festival – Joy was the cutest angel!

Touring the nativities – yes that sign says “Do not touch!”    Refreshments afterwards!

Sisters had a piano recital.  While we waited for everyone to arrive, Joy bolted for the piano.  She put her program on the music stand, then played and sang.  Then she gracefully gave everyone a bow.  Best performance of the night!

We are headed to Iowa for Christmas – so we have to buy real coats – she loves Old Navy!  She always poses with the mannequins!  :)   A quick stop at Pet smart.

Because we are going to be gone, some of the big presents for Christmas get to opened early!  Introducing Joy, Bella, and Alex’s new turtle filled with beans.  So fun!

Thanksgiving Week

Speech re-eval.  Joy understands so much and communicates with me so well, that  it’s interesting (and a little sad) to see the official results of her speech eval.  She doesn’t understand the word ‘not.’  She doesn’t do plurals.  She can operate in her world just fine, but can’t use the vocabulary to answer questions beyond ‘what’ questions.    Putting all of that aside, she knows what she wants and she knows how to get it.  I understand her.  That is the point of therapy to expand her abilities so others can see this amazing girl!

Setting up for Christmas – she was so excited this year!  She put that stocking around her neck and took off.  She wanted to do everything!  She is so excited for Christmas!

Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Ball’s house.  She loved their cat so much, the cat finally run up into the tree to escape!

Our Black Friday shopping was fun!

Joy has entered into a new phase.  She doesn’t want to eat meals anymore.  Now she hasn’t stopped eating.  She just doesn’t want to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  She wants to eat all the time, but only slices of bread, green apples, grapes, and that’s about it.  Gotta work on that one!

Joy’s Week

Croup hit our house and Joy took her turn.  Poor thing!

Slowly she got better and better and better.  Till Saturday when she was well enough to go to Dance class!

Tuesday was no school.  Instead Joy and I went to school for Parent Teacher Conference.

Poor Joy – she was so confused! We are going to school, but without the backpack and I can bring the ipad?

Her teacher said she is doing great!  She said Joy is a a joy to have in class! :)

For the rest of the day we made cookies and played with sisters.

Friday we skipped school and went to the zoo!  Joy loved the map and petting the goats!

Joy has found sister’s old softball helmet.  She loves it!  She gets all dressed up and settles in to watch TV  - it’s the funniest thing!
