Another Day Getting to Know Bella

       

Joy is being so sweet with her new sister!

I’m a Big Sister!

I have a new sister!  Her name is Arabella.  Mama calls her Bella a lot of the time.

So far I haven’t been jealous.  I have been curious and soft.  I like all the binkies and bottles sitting around!

Therapy and ENT

Joy had communication therapy on Thursday.  She really enjoys that.  We worked on in and out, and making sounds.  The tub is filled with beans, lentils, and small pieces of pasta.  At first we were trying to get her to fill up a cup and then dump it out.  After that she got to put her feet into it.  She enjoyed that feeling!

On Friday Joy had OT.  She is working on walking now.  She cruises beautifully.  It’s not getting up the confidence to actually walk.

She has went to the ENT this week.  She has very tiny ear canals – very typical for a little one with DS.  She failed her hearing test at the pediatrician.  The doctor said that the type of test they used at the pedi isn’t very accurate for people with itty-bitty ear canals.  So Joy will have a full blown, real hearing test on the 22nd.  I think she’s doing well.  She is talking and responding to noises, so they is more preventative than anything.

The Drum and the Zoo

Joy loves the drum she got for Christmas.  My little persussionist:

Last Saturday we went to the zoo for cousin Aurora’s birthday party.  Here is the line of babies – too cute!  Joy, Aurora, and Victoria.

Joy sleeps folded in half. If I did this, I wouldn't be able to walk for a week!
And yes, she is holding onto her feet. Sweet baby!

Joy’s Christmas

I love Joy’s name.  It fits her so perfectly.  But it is so much more special at Christmas!

Joy now has the right top front tooth.   Her bottom left tooth is breaking through!  That will bring us up to a grand…..3!
